Landscape Strategies Implemented by Land Use Codes
Current trends in zoning reform utilize form-based codes rather than use-based codes. An investigation is being completed to analyze how landscape strategies could be implemented as regulations to create large scale ecological benefit. A literature survey is underway to collect landscape design guidelines and zoning ordinances completed in municipalities. A test case landscape regulatory strategy is being prepared for downtown Hyannis, Cape Cod.

Phytoremediation Case Studies and Plant Species Manual
A joint research project has been recently started with Niall Kirkwood, Chair of the Center for Technology and the Environment at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Phytoremediation and phytotechnology case studies are being collected to create a manual of examples and techniques for landscape architects.
